Big Mac
These short, retro-futuristic, internet-y pieces were a real creative departure for McDonald’s. The good news is their bravery paid off, snagging some crucial love from a sought-after, younger audience who typically evades them. Scientific proof that weird sells.

Joe Jaworski for Texas Attorney General
Never thought we’d be political operatives, but here we are, making ads for Joe Jaworski—the Democrat running to unseat current Texas AG, Ken Paxton. A Republican you may recognize as the guy trying to help old President What’s-His-Name overturn the free and fair election results of 2020. We used satire, tiny people, and a lot of disdain for assholes to accomplish this fun political hit piece.

Lazy Dog
To promote Lazy Dog’s new spring menu, the idea was cooked up to create a seasonal-themed Rube Goldberg machine that told a story of growth and farming. It was an exhausting shoot, from hand-making everything and then getting it all to function together, but we think the result was worth it.

United Airlines
United had a new regional jet: the impressive CRJ-550. They wanted to get people excited about it in a clever and fun way, which we think was accomplished in this clever and fun promo.

And now for a more serious Joe Jaworksi ad.
As evidenced by Texas’ new lean toward a Gilead-style state, elections have serious consequences. So we took a serious approach. In our research we kept coming back to a simple truth: Joe Jaworski is a good man—and his opponent is not. So, we decided to just go ahead and say that as plainly as we could. Three days in Texas to get one shot of a good man walking? You bet.

Steve Martin
This tremendously fun music video for comedian Steve Martin and his Grammy-winning cohorts, the Steep Canyon Rangers, was produced and directed alongside longtime collaborator Greg Hess. It was a joy to work on—making something with Steve Martin has that effect.

McDonald’s Dollar Menu
With 8 million followers on YouTube alone, Bad Lip Reading is a bona fide internet darling. Forging a partnership made a lot of sense for McDonald’s. Sometimes the best results come from getting out of the way and letting people do their thing.

Hot Hands
With wintry nippiness fast approaching, Hot Hands wanted to boost sales and create some buzz. Enter the Hot Hands spokesbear, a lunatic bear gobsmacked by the notion that he didn’t have to hibernate this winter—leaving him free to enjoy the splendor of the season for the very first time. All thanks to Hot Hands Hand Warmers.

Craftsman Labs
Craftsman wanted to introduce young people to the tough tools their dads had been using for years, without reminding them that this was their dad’s tool brand. All Craftsman tools come with a lifetime warranty—so torture tests seemed like a nice way to introduce ourselves to the kids. This video is the trailer for the entire ‘Labs’ program—which we’d be quite happy to share, if you’re keen to see the OLVs.

Carvey
This promo helped launch Carvey, the revolutionary tabletop 3D carving machine, on KickStarter.com. In just 30 days the company had raised more than $620,000 in funding. Pretty good math for just one video.
Capabilities: Directing, Cinematography, Editing and Coloring
Field Notes
Launching its new ‘Heavy Duty’ notebook in the middle of the pandemic made regular production darn near impossible. Fortunately, the edition lent itself well to truck commercial parodies. Many hours were spent sourcing stock footage, shooting inserts, working on VFX bits and coloring it all to make sure it matched. Mark McConville, of the LA-based Superego comedy powerhouse, provided the music, which fit perfectly.
